Program Objectives

  • Strengthen the governance, leadership and sustainability of key population-led community organisations.

  • Build advocacy and representative capacity among key population networks and civil society partners.

Stronger, community-led HIV responses in Fiji and Papua New Guinea.

  • Health Equity Matters recognises the critical role of community-led organisations in responding to HIV, supporting access to services and advocating for affected communities. The Indo-Pacific HIV Partnership invests in strengthening the systems and capacities that enable these organisations to thrive.

We work closely with six community partners:

Through tailored organisational development, governance strengthening, financial management support, leadership development and mentoring, the partnership helps build sustainable organisations capable of leading HIV responses well into the future.

Each CSO partner has a detailed capacity strengthening plan, which was developed through a joint organisational capacity assessment, and which sets out the key priorities for each organisation to strengthen their capacity across seven foundational organisation areas.

  • Indo-Pacific HIV Partnership activities delivered by Health Equity Matters intersect closely with the work being delivered under the Australian Support for Pacific HIV Action program, particularly those activities in Fiji.

By strengthening community leadership and accountability, the program contributes to more effective, inclusive and sustainable HIV responses across the Indo-Pacific region.
